*There is no prorated price for attending in-person one of the days and virtual on the other day or if you plan to attend only one of the days. Registration will be open until September 19th. If you need to register past the deadline or alter an existing registration, please contact Katie John at maspexec@masponline.us. Any cancellations less than a week prior to the event will only be refunded 50% of registration cost. Any refund requests more than a week prior to the event will be subject to a $10 processing fee.

Details: This two-day conference will be in-person & online featuring keynote speaker, Dr. Wayne Stewart, J.D., PhD. Dr. Stewart will be providing three presentation sessions following the theme of navigating current special education laws & ethics for school psychologists. The three session topics are as follows:

Each session will have a 15 minute break with an hour for lunch on Friday. Conference fees for in-person attendees will include coffee/tea refreshments, but will not include lunch as attendees will be in close distance of several shops and restaurants either on MSU-Billing Campus or in the surrounding area. Discounted hotel booking information will be included in the registration confirmation email along with the ZOOM links for those attending virtually. Nine OPI Renewal Units and NCSP Credits will be available for both in-person and virtual attendees. Presenter Bio

Dr. Stewart is a 1988 graduate of Duke University. He received his Ph.D. in Psychology from LSU in 1994. He received his J.D. in 2006 from Loyola University in New Orleans. He is a partner in the Law Offices of Hammonds, Sills, Adkins, Guice, Noah, & Perkins, LLP, in Baton Rouge. Dr. Stewart’s law practice focuses on special education and Section 504/ADA. He is admitted to practice before all Louisiana State courts, all Louisiana federal district courts, the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Baton Rouge Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the National School Attorneys Association, the Louisiana School Psychological Association (honorary lifetime), and the National Association of School Psychologists (retired). Prior to graduate school at LSU, he was a paraprofessional for an academic year in residential facility in Durham, North Carolina for children with emotional/behavioral disorders. Before his employment as an attorney, he was a school psychologist for the Jefferson Parish Public School System (JPPSS) in suburban New Orleans from 1993 to 1996, then subsequently a special education administrator for nine years, including eight as coordinator of JPPSS’s pupil appraisal services. He taught courses at several Louisiana schools, including LSU, Tulane Loyola (New Orleans), and Our Lady of Holy Cross in New Orleans. Wayne is also a licensed psychologist in Louisiana with a specialization in school psychology.


Registration

The Montana Autism Education Project through OPI will be providing registration fee reimbursement to those who qualify on a first come, first serve basis. Eligible individuals include current employees of MT public schools. Those who registered for this conference in years past and did not show up will not be eligible for this monetary award this year. To sign up, complete all registration questions related to this scholarship. Signing up does not guarantee you will receive this scholarship even if you are eligible.

General Business Meeting

MASP will be holding a General Business Meeting for all MASP general membership to attend either in-person or online on Friday, September 26th from 4:00pm-5:00pm. A ZOOM link for the General Business meeting will be included in the registration confirmation email.


MASP Social Event

Join MASP in our next social event Friday, September 26th from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Walkers Grill after the first day of Fall Conference. Come network and get to know other Montana school psychologists and other amazing educational professionals with appetizers provided by MASP! Walkers Grill is located at 2700 1st Ave N, Billings, MT 59101.


Merchandise Orders

Available to In-Person Attendees Only

We have a variety of merchandise items available from sweatpants to office supplies while supplies last! We accept card, cash, or checks made out to the Montana Association of School Psychologists. Merchandise proceeds go toward MASP scholarships for students and practicing school psychologists.
